SPACE x LAUNCH

In October, Reform The Funk held it’s very first exhibition, Space, a celebration and showcase of Black Art. On the night, the vibe was energetic and lively, with excitement from guests, tastemakers, and artists alike as they enthused over such a dynamic night. The good vibes overran into the early hours of the morning as film and photography were exhibited alongside impulsive dance and acoustic performances.

This event, which is to be the first of many, has established Reform The Funk as a physical force creating a platform and inspiration for the culture.

Space consisted of photographers Ejatu Shaw and Kakembo, filmmaker Musa and performance artists Raptum and Layo Adebayo, each exploring the notion and narrative of the Black British Experience in honour of Black History Month.

Each responded in there own stylistic way to the meaning and understanding of their experience and narrative.
