REFORM THE FUNK

Editorial: Am I Man Enough For You?

This editorial is set to break the social norms of toxic masculinity in the Vietnamese men’s society. The traditional male gender roles are like a box, narrowed and rigid - men have to comfort themselves to fit in it. This editorial is to bring in the concept of gender bending as a form of social activism to underline sex-role stereotypes.

The styling here focused on referencing a lot of flowers, floral prints, bright colours and shapes that we usually don’t see on men - this is to also underline how men still limit their ways of dressing. But fashion has the power to encourage men to explore, to express themselves and their creativity through clothes, colours, textures and materials - to use fashion as a statement and a form of expression.
